Practicing the Presence!

Confess to one another therefore your faults ( your slips, your false steps, our offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
James 5:16 amp.

Abraham's servant was a man of God.  He was obedient and faithful to Abraham.  Abraham sent him on a mission to obtain a wife for his son Isaac from amongst his relatives.  Eliezer was a praying man.  He did not just go but went with much prayer and trust in the Lord.  He asked God for specific details and God answered.  When his prayers were answered, he praised God.  God made his path straight.
Do you pray about everything throughout your day?
Do you believe that what you ask for will be answered?
Do you have faith as a mustard seed?
When your prayer requests are answered do you worship the One Who answered them?
I challenge you today:  pray about everything!
( I have been know to pray about a parking space when I go shopping)
God cares about you and what you are doing throughout your day.  Keep your focus on Him.
I trust in You, Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding, I acknowledge You in all my ways, because it is You Who makes my path straight.  Prov. 3:5-6

P.R.A.I.S.E.

I realized that I did not finish explaining about how to use P.R.A.I.S.E. so I will post the rest of how to use this method.  Sorry about that, busy with all the holidays.

  P.R.A.I.S.E.  A=acknowledgment

Acknowledgment:  Having praised Him and been purified by Him, you are ready to submit to God's authority.  Acknowledge His right to rule and reign in your life every day.  Then willingly and deliberately submit yourself to His lordship-ONE DAY AT A TIME.  Often, in this part of my  prayer time, I acknowledge how trustworthy He's been with His authority in my life.  Make it a specific point of acknowledging Him as Lord.  (Beth Moore)

He has taught me to live for today, leave yesterday behind and don't worry about tomorrow.  At this time in my life of living in two places each week, and dealing with mental illness, which can be draining, it keeps me focused on Him and His leading and direction for the day.  I did not realize how peaceful it would be when I started doing this.  Relying on Him and resting in Him, takes away my anxiety and worry.

P.R.A.I.S.E.=intercession

Intercession:  Pray for others!  Ask God to burden your heart with the specific people He wants you to intercede for each day.  Intercessory prayer really works! (Beth Moore)

Praying for one another!  It is an honor to pray for others.
When we are sensitive to praying for others, God uses us to step in and uphold others before Him.
I want to share a story about just that with my son, when he was in Taiwan for his job.  My husband and I were at our faith group (small church group) and I just felt very impressed to pray for our son, so we stopped our group and we all prayed for him.  The next morning when I got up I had an e-mail from him saying that he was thrown from his scooter and landed on his feet, just in time to jump out of the way of an oncoming truck.  He had no injuries!  It happened at the exact time we were praying.  We were praising God!

P.R.A.I.S.E.= Supplication for self

Supplication for self:  Now enter into a time of prayer for yourself.
We can only know Him intimately when we bring Him our innermost thoughts, fears, hurts, gains, losses, and desires.  Pour out your heart to Him for God is our refuge.  (Ps. 62:8)  (Beth Moore)

Psalm 62:5-8  is one of my favorite verses.....I pray it a lot.
 
This past weekend was particularly tough with my mother-in-law....she was very abusive and I did not sleep (but for short naps) all night.  I finally got up early and spent time with the Lord....I was pouring my heart out to Him and then she started in again.....I was not happy.....I went into her room and I have to tell you the Holy Spirit took over.....I could not believe what was coming out of my mouth...I was speaking the truth in love and she got it.  She has not yelled or been abusive since.  I am so thankful that we have a God who loves us, listens and answers.

Have you ever had a time where you poured your heart out to God and He answered quickly?


P.R.A.I.S.E.=Equipping

Equipping:  Conclude your prayer time by asking Him to equip you in every way for a victorious day.  You're cleansed and prepared for His full habitation, so ask Him to fill you with His Spirit, to make Himself "conspicuous" in you and to make you victorious over the evil one.  Ask Him to give you eyes that "see" Him and ears sensitized to "hear" Him.  Ask Him to give you a heart to respond when He opens a door of opportunity.  (Beth Moore)

As I am having my quiet time with the Lord, I look for a verse(s) that will equip me for the day.  Something that I meditate on during the day to strengthen me and keep me focused on Him.

Hiding His word in our hearts  Ps 119:11

Today we beginning a journey of scripture memorization.  As we read in God's word there are many times that He speaks to us and we wish that we could remember it.  Well, a good way to do that is to memorize and meditate on it.  I like to take two weeks to memorize and meditate on it.  I find that by doing that each day it is implanted in, me, hidden in my heart.  

I started this journey in 2009 with Beth Moore on her blog.  (If you are interested she is doing it again this year).  It has been life changing for me.  

These are some of things that I have learned by doing this.

1. It is a good habit

2. It keeps me focused on Him and not on my circumstances.

3. I have come to know Him more.

4. It has changed the way that I think and respond to life.

These are just a few of the ways it has affected my life.

I have used spiral index cards, cards on a ring, a journal, and even in my car with a badge type holder to memorize them.  I have also written it down each day, but the one thing that I do consistently is recite them each day.  I also, think about it throughout the day and turn them into prayers before God.  It has led me to other scriptures that teach me about the particular verse I am memorizing.

I will be posting on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month.

I will post my scripture and ask you to post yours as well.  

Anything that you would like to share about how God has used memorizing and meditating on His Word is welcomed.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee.  Is. 26:3

P.R.A.I.S.E.=repentance

 

After you've spent several minutes in praise and worship
enter a time of confession and repentance.
I teach this sequence because in Matt. 6:9, 12 Christ taught the disciples to "hallow" God's name first, then ask for forgiveness for sin.
However, I've experienced times when my heart was too full of sin and conviction to begin with praise.
Sometimes, based on Is. 59:1-2, you may need to begin your
prayer time with repentance rather than praise.
The Is. passage indicates that, when we have rebelled against God, all He wants to hear is repentance.
David's prayer of repentance simply started with the words,
"Have mercy upon me"!
As you become increasingly sensitive to the Holy Spirit, you will discern times when your prayer life needs to begin with repentance rather than praise.
Your heart will feel burdened with sin and anxious for relief.
No matter what, practice a time of confession and repentance DAILY!

These are the places I start.  I often ask Him to show me hidden places in me that are not pleasing to Him.
Some verses I use for praying during this time is Romans 12:1-2, actually I like to pray through the whole chapter.  Phil. 2: 3-5 is another one I use.
It is good to start the day fresh with humility and a clean slate.  After all His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.

Learning to Praise!

Ok, so I have not been on here most of this past year, because....this past year has been a particularly hard one for me.  Life has taken many twists and turns, unexpectedly.  One day everything is going along just fine and the next is turned upside down.  You ever notice how quickly that can happen?  
I needed some alone time with the Lord!  Just Him and me!  I love those times with Him!  I even gave up facebook for awhile and when I went back to it, it was in a totally different way, not consuming me.  
I belong to a wonderful group of ladies there, I would encourage you to check them out.  Women in the Word Bulletin Board.  We are about to embark on a jubilee journey for 2015.


Here are some things I have learned this past year:

1- Spending time alone with God and leaving all social media and                just Him, His Word and you, is so healing!
2- Praising Him at all times will change your focus!
3- Waiting on Him is not inactive, but active in praying through His    Word and waiting for Him to answer.
4-  Hiding His Word in your heart.....calms the storm, fights the battle, brings your focus back on Him and not on your feelings.
5-  Praying His Word-powerful!

The Lord had delivered me from living in constant fear and anxiety.  But, for the last few months the fears and constant anxiety and worries were back.  I could not figure out why.  After listening to the video, I knew why.  So God brought me to the verse that He gave me before my whole life turned upside down.  Deut. 30:2-4   Hear, O Israel, today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies:let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them, for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.

I ask you, have you let the enemy gain ground where he does not belong?  Don't let him, get it back and let God show you His promises.

Fight the good fight of Faith!

Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with my children and grandchildren.  Fight aginst those who fight against them!
Take hold of Your shield and buckler and rise up for their help!
Draw Your spear and javeling against their pursures!
Say to their souls, I am your salvation!
Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after their lives!

Prayer Journal

Last year I started a prayer journal that I made on my own.  It was so successful for me that this year I have made a new one.  I will share with you how I have made one.
I went to Staples and purchased a 7X5 binder and also some tabs to go in it with paper.
I covered the front and back with scrapbook papers.  Used the tabs for the different days of the week with one for daily prayers.  A pocket for pens, etc.  and one for sticky notes.

Grace and Mercy!

Christmas!

This Christmas is not all about presents......it is about survival! And Who better to turn to than Jesus! There will be no focus on presents this year but I am focusing on His presence. I was trying very hard to come up with homemade gifts, but with working there leaves little time for making things. I am making some small gifts from the heart. We have not had a lean Christmas like this before and I am enjoying it. I am not rushed, and frazzled by all the busyness of this time of year. Our decorations are simple this year, mostly different nativities placed around the house. Yes, we do have a tree and I think we could have done without. But, my son likes to go into the woods and cut one down. I am so thankful for a God Who truly loves us! He is changing our hearts and making them clean, right , perservering and steadfast! What gifts from the King!

An Anchor for our soul!

But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,

who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old,
from ancient days.

when she who is in labor has given birth;

so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.  We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a hight priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Thank you Father, that You have a plan for our lives.  That we have an anchor for our souls.  We can go through tough times knowing that You have it all under control.   Our refuge and our strength come from You!  You are a God, Who does not lie and we can run to You for refuge and have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.  Jesus, You endured the cross for the hope set before You!  You did this for us, even though we did not deserve it or even acknowledge You!  What a great love!

Peace and Joy in Believing

You, God of my hope, fill me with all joy and peace in believing, that I may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  That my life and my sharing  are not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit of power.  May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight Oh Lord my rock and my redeemer.  That my faith should rest not on the wisdom of men but on the power of You, God.  Help my work to be of faith, a labor of love, being steadfast in hope.  That I would only boast in You, Jesus and what You are accomplishing in me, by the power of the Holy Spirit.  It is through You, Holy Spirit that lives are changed.

Mustard Seed Prayers-Steadfast Love

We have a God Who is faithful!  He loves us with a steadfast love!  Run to Him, hide in Him.  He hears your cries!  Stand firm in Him!  Trust Him!
Praying with you!

Cause me to hear Your steadfast love in the morning, for on You do I lean and in You do I trust.  Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my inner self to You.  Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies; I flee to You to hide me.
Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God.  Let your good Spirit lead me into a level country and into a land of uprightness.  Save my life, O Lord, for Your name's sake;  in Your righteousness, bring my life out of trouble and free me from distress.  In Your mercy and lovingkindness, cut off my enemies and destroy all those who afflict my inner self, for I am Your servant.
